How are your lot feeling about this one?
Confidence is high at the moment - we are playing some attractive passing football and I think as long as we carry on playing the way we have recently then we have every chance of getting a result. How's the gaffer doing? Gianfranco Zola has been fantastic. When he first came there was a lot of debate whether he would make it as a manager and a lot of concern because of his lack of experience but with the help of Steve Clarke the pair of them have got West Ham playing attractive football and grafting for results. Highs and lows of the season? Highs: seeing the amount of players within our first-team squad who worked their way through the Academy and have secured first-team places. Jack Collison and James Tomkins to name just two. Lows: injuries that we've had which could potentially harm our chances of getting into the Europa League. Who should we be worried about? Our defence has been solid this year and Lucas Neill has played a massive part in that. Him, Matthew Upson, James Tomkins and Herita Illunga have been fantastic this year. Anyone need a kick up the backside? I have been quite impressed with the whole squad this year. Even the players who started off badly seem to have had a kick up the backside from Zola. If I had to say someone it would be our chairman to hurry up and sell the club before we are taken over by the Icelandic government! Weaknesses? Since the loss of Carlton Cole we seem to be missing something up front. Diego Tristan has started to play well but I feel we've missed Cole immensely since his injury. Who do you rate on our side? Fernando Torres. Torres for me is one of the best strikers in the world and is a constant threat. What can we expect from Upton Park, and where would your tenner go? We're pushing for that Europa League spot so the atmosphere should be electric. Expect a passionate round of I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles. I really think we have a chance to get something out of this game. It's going to be hard but if we show the grit and determination we have shown against Villa and Stoke then I believe we can get a result, so my tenner would have to go on my boys. |
