Rafa leads race for England and Pompey defender Johnson

18.5 million? For a right back? Even if Pompey owes us £7m as soccernet says, I just don't understand.
And surely we won't be selling Arbeloa? Unless Carra is our back-up rght back? |

Assuming this is all true, I'm still trying to see the long term picture as to how Johnson will fit in. Will Arbeloa be happy playing as backup RB after
playing
most of the time when available? You don't pay £18 mil for someone to warm the bench......... then again, there was Robbie Keane

Glen Johnson's Liverpool switch delayed

Glen Johnson's anticipated £18m switch to Liverpool has been put on hold with the main negotiating figures on their holidays.
The Anfield outfit remain quietly confident of winning the race for the England right-back ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea.
